:DDDDDD omg Tuesday. So much to love here. I really adore what a full, loving portrait you've painted of Morgan in all her quirky, competent-vulnerable glory, and some of the language and imagery here was just -- mmmmm. (Jules' lips and pens trailing along hands and love kindling and *____*) I like that Morgan innocently daydreams about being a boy, but it's not because she identifies as male, and that delineation (between "I want what boys have" and "I am what boys are") is clear, and other people perceiving her as femme or the choices she's making as butch don't actually have much to do with her gender identity, which probably (hopefully!) allows completely for people who do identify as those things but for her is just "female". All of that certainly resonates with how she presented onscreen, so! I loveeee the interweaving you've done with her grandfather, here, it was all so poignant and human without being maudlin. And I love her social awkwardness! I think that you've captured that so realistically and believably and it was my favorite thing about the character, haha, so it was really nice to see that aspect of her done so lovably here. Her just going for it and announcing to Jules that she has trouble reading the signals - ahaha, yes! How I identify, Morgan!
Finally I wanted to make sure I wasn't misreading before I jumped all over this: did her grandfather give her, like, a whole firetruck? Not a plastic one, but an actual truck? :DDDDDDDDDD *waits patiently for answer*
ANYWAY I adored this, it was well, well, well worth the wait. Thank you so much for writing it!
